Experience & Variety
This is calming, fun, and just a bit mysterious. The variety is great, and part of the appeal is not knowing what you are creating until the image emerges. Looking at a finished page without the numbers, I would have a hard time guessing the subject before coloring it. Watching subtle shifts in color take shape is surprisingly satisfying.
Paper & Usability
The paper could be better. Even with a scratch sheet underneath, I had some bleed-through across double pages, although marker choice plays a role. A couple of thick, removable pages at the back would help. My other small knock is the overuse of black fill around the edges. Sometimes it is 25 percent of the image, which means burning through black markers faster than I would like.
Relaxation Factor
This is wonderfully relaxing. We took it on a recent cruise and returned to it multiple times, swapping between the black and white versions. Both were equally enjoyable to watch come to life.
Value & Recommendation
For the amount of content, this is a great value. The black background makes colors pop, and the binding feels durable enough for long-term use. I would recommend it to anyone, whether you are an avid colorist or just want a peaceful way to pass the time.
